Various Artists - Irish Traditional Music
This is a compilation album featuring 25 tracks taken from three albums produced and recorded by Robin Morton during the 1970s, and originally released on Topic Records*. These albums were:
- Drops of Brandy (1970)
Sean McAloon (uilleann pipes) and John Rea (hammer dulcimer)
*(first released on Mercier 1970, before Topic release in 1976)
- Music from Co. Leitrim (1978)
Packie Duignan (flute) and Seamus Horan (fiddle)
- Traditional Music on the Hammer Dulcimer (1977)
John Rea
Slowly but surely, Topic let the albums slip from their lists and the masters have been back on the Temple shelves for years. The music should be heard, so we have produced this compilation album. Some of the musicians are unfortunately no longer with us, but their music lives on. Their testimony carrying the past into the future.
"This is too good a record to pass by"
